One week ago Friday, a Larimore woman and her 6-year-old son were stranded in a ditch during a blizzard. The two were stuck in their car for 16 hours and in that time only one person drove by, a snow plow driver named Allen Madson.

Allen Madson has been working for the Grand Forks County Highway department for more than 10 years and though he saved the lives of two people, he says he was just doing his job.

When Madson went to work Saturday morning it was just a normal day and he was running a route he'd done a thousand times. But when he turned onto county road 9, he didn't expect what came next. A car stranded in the ditch, inside, mother Latesa Adamsen and her 6-year-old son Dylan, they'd been there 16 hours.
