SHELDON, N.D. (AP) - The Highway Patrol says two people were
injured when a sport utility vehicle went around a "road closed"
sign in Ransom County and hit a washout.
The 29-year-old driver was taken by ambulance to a Fargo
hospital and a 25-year-old passenger in the car was flown to the
hospital after the crash west of Sheldon about noon Monday.
Authorities say the washout on the gravel road was about 30 feet
wide and 7 feet deep. The patrol says the driver of the SUV, Nathan
Deemer Jr. of Wahpeton, was cited for disregarding a traffic
