29-year-old man charged with simple assault after attacking 3 conductors on Amtrak train

A man has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking 3 conductors on an Amtrak train Friday afternoon. 29-year-old Preston Freeman was placed under arrest and taken Grand Forks County Correctional Facility.

A man has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking 3 conductors on an Amtrak train Friday afternoon. 29-year-old Preston Freeman was placed under arrest and taken Grand Forks County Correctional Facility.

Deputies responded to a call from Amtrak regarding an intoxicated individual on the train leaving Grand Forks. According to Sheriff Bob Rost, Freeman had taken a bag of m&m off of a passenger's seat and stolen ramen noodles from a snack bar. When conductors confronted Freeman, he assaulted them.

Grand Forks County Sheriff Bob Rost said, "He had visible scratches and marks on his face, he was hit in the face. Mr. Freeman was charged with simple assault."

Freeman is currently in custody at the Grand Forks correctional center.
