West Fargo Hockey Association's Gun Raffle to have more guns and tickets available this year

There will be more guns, and more tickets available for this year's West Fargo Hockey Association's Gun Raffle.

There will be more guns, and more tickets available for this year's West Fargo Hockey Association's Gun Raffle.

The raffle was under the national microscope last year, with event planners getting calls from the likes of CNN and The Huffington Post. This year, the only calls are from people who want a ticket, so far. Over half of the 6,000 tickets have sold in the first week, with people from 28 states planning to attend.

The amount of shotguns, rifles and muzzleloaders up for auction is jumping to 300, up from 200 last year.

Cal Helgeson, West Fargo Hockey Association said, "It was always our plan to get this bigger and better and be as big as we can to try and raise as much money as we can for the association. Last year it really helped us out with all the national media attention."

Proceeds go to building a new ice rink in West Fargo. About $100,0000 was raised last year. The Association aims to hit the $125,000 mark this year.
