Grand Forks International Airport boardings break record

There were a total of 146,068 boardings in 2013, an 8 percent increase over 2012, the last record year. That’s four consecutive record years. Statewide boardings also broke a record at 1.1 million, a 10.8 percent increase over 2012.

Passenger boardings at Grand Forks International Airport this past year was the highest it has ever been, according to data released by the state Aeronautics Commission.

There were a total of 146,068 boardings in 2013, an 8 percent increase over 2012, the last record year. That’s four consecutive record years.

Statewide boardings also broke a record at 1.1 million, a 10.8 percent increase over 2012.

Boardings at individual airports vary widely, ranging from an 11 percent decrease in Devils Lake, which had a total of 2,667 boardings, to a 151.8 percent increase in Williston, which had a total of 94,459.

Among major airports, Fargo had a 9.3 percent increase to 398,677, Bismarck had a 0.6 per-cent increase to 237,683 and Minot had a 1 percent decrease to 222,0083.
