RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Snow is no April Fools' joke in the

Dakotas.

The National Weather Service says nearly 2 feet of snow could

accumulate by midday Friday in the higher elevations of South

Dakota's Black Hills.

Between 3 and 8 inches of snow is expected in other parts of

western South Dakota, and in southwest and south central North

Dakota.

South Dakota Public Safety Secretary Tom Dravland is cautioning

motorists and ranchers to be aware of the stormy conditions that

are expected and to take the normal precautions.
