The number of drug-related arrests increased by 100 in the state last year according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, troopers made 913 arrests in 2013. That's up from just more than 800 in 2012.

Patrol Sergeant Tom Iverson says troopers have put more K-9 units in the western part of the state, which likely has contributed to the growing number of drug arrests.

The largest drug bust of the year was about 15 pounds of marijuana, which was seized in the southeast region of the state.
