Fire crews respond to a house fire in Grand Forks

We have breaking news, Grand Forks fire fighters are at the scene of a house fire at 627 North 4th Street.

The Grand Forks fire department responded to a house fire late Thursday afternoon. The call came in a little before 5 PM.

Firefighters arrived at a house on 627 North 4th Street and reported smoke pouring out of the home's 2nd story windows. Residents cleared out of the house prior the firefighters arrival. The home sustained heavy damage. Currently the cause of the fire is unknown.

Battalion Chief Mike Sandry said, "It looks like the fire started somewhere on the main floor, possibly, but until the investigation is complete we wont have those."

The American Red Cross says two adults and three children have been placed in a hotel for three nights and will receive assistance with clothing and food.
