Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An early morning standoff in south Fargo resulted in the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection with a January armed robbery.

Twenty-two year-old Valeri Dida was arrested following a nearly 4 hour standoff Monday morning. Police were called to an apartment at 2202 17th Street South in Fargo shortly after 5 AM Monday on a report of a domestic assault. When police arrived, the female involved in the domestic was outside of the residence; the suspect remained inside.

A SWAT team was called to the scene shortly after, and portions of the building were evacuated. Dida was located in the back room of a one bedroom unit on the 3rd floor. He was eventually taken into custody without incident. Authorities are investigating whether or not Dida possessed a weapon.

Dida was named a person of interest late last month in connection with a January 7th armed robbery of Mister Money in Fargo.
