The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the farm bill Tuesday afternoon. The bill passed the House last week.

It must get through the Senate before the President can sign off on it. Monday evening the Senate will vote on whether or not to end debate on the farm bill. If it passes senators will vote Tuesday.

Senator John Hoeven is confident that the bill will have no problem passing.

Sen. John Hoeven said, "We've really worked to get a compromised version that could get support from both republicans and democrats and and both the house and the senate."

Senator Hoeven says the new bill focuses on crop insurance and continuing the sugar program.
