Monday, the community remembers 70-year-old Faye Gibbens, a Grand Forks woman who dedicated her life to helping people with disabilities. Gibbens died Saturday after complications with diabetes.

Gibbens was the co-founder of the North Dakota Association for the Disabled.

Inspired by her son Michael, who was born with cerebral palsy, Faye Gibbens founded the North Dakota Association for the Disabled in 1975. Family and friends say she'll be remembered for her laughter and hard work.
