GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Grand Forks Public Schools has designated March 7 as a full day of instruction in light of the cancellation of school on January 22.
March 7 had previously been designated as a half day of school in the morning and professional development for staff in the afternoon.
If there are additional unscheduled school closings before the end of this school year, lost instructional time may be made up by extending the length of several school days. The minimum additional time per day allowed by the state under this option is 30 minutes per day. Grand Forks Public Schools could also apply to the Governor of North Dakota for a waiver in the event of any other weather-related delays or closings. If approved, weather-related delays or closings would not need to be made up.
April 17 and the morning of May 23 are also instructional days due to previous severe winter weather cancellations.
