WDAZ is joining millions across the nation raising awareness for heart disease, the number 1 killer of women.
Heart disease has been called the Silent Killer because it often has no noticeable symptoms. It's more deadly than all forms of cancer combined.
To save lives and raise awareness, the American Heart Association launched Go Red For Women. National Wear Red Day is the first Friday each February.
We encourage everyone to join us at WDAZ wearing red Friday and encourage other to know their cardiovascular risk and take action to live longer, healthier lives.
Rabeea Aboufaker, MD said, "Symptoms of a heart attack may be different in women than in men and raising awareness of that is extremely important so theres no delay when symptoms occur."
Again, Friday is national wear red day. Send us your red pictures on Twitter and our WDAZ Facebook page.
