Emergency crews respond to fatal 2-vehicle accident in Grand Forks

A Fargo man died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon near Altru Hospital.

A Fargo man died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon near Altru Hospital.

According to Police Lt. Mike Ferguson, about 2:30 p.m., a 62-year-old man drove his Audi west on 14th Avenue South, crossing South Columbia Road, when his vehicle was hit on the driver's side by a northbound pick-up.

The driver of the Audi had serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Altru, where he later died. The driver of the pickup truck, a 34-year-old Grand Forks man, was not injured. A 10-year-old passenger in the pickup was treated for injuries and released.

A drone operated by the Grand Forks Sheriff's Department and UND's aviation school was deployed to take images from above the scene to aid in the investigation.
