A documentary about how the oil boom is impacting the residents of western North Dakota will kick off UND’s Global Visions Film Series at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl on campus, the university said.

“This is Our Country: Living With the Wild West Oil Boom,” commissioned by the Dakota Resource Council, features interviews with farmers and ranchers in the North Dakota’s Bakken Formation.

“The film features everyday North Dakotans talking about how the chaotic development of the Bakken has affected lives and livelihoods,” said DRC spokesman Sean Arthison.

The group was formed in 1978 with the goal of protecting natural resources in North Dakota. The film was produced by D&N Cinematics of Bismarck.
