Man Charged in Herald Shotgun Case Pleads Not Guilty
A Grand Forks man has been arraigned on illegal possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a found loaded shotgun at the Grand Forks Herald newspaper. Phillip Manaigre has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A Grand Forks man has been arraigned on illegal possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct charges.
Phillip Manaigre, 22, waived his preliminary hearing and pled not guilty today.
He faces the charges after police say he left a loaded shotgun at the Grand Forks Herald newspaper.
Maniagre then held police in a six hour standoff in early March when the tried to arrest him at his Grand Forks mobile home.
A negotiator and SWAT team members were called in to help and police tried several different things to get Manaigre out of his home including two "flash-bangs" shooting out his windows with bean bag rounds, and tear gas.
They got him out after breaking down the door.
Manaigre will be in court for a pretrial conference in May.
