A once popular Grand Forks restaurant is coming down.

After decades in business the Bronze Boot Steakhouse and Lounge is being demolished on North Washington Street. The restaurant closed in 2012. The property was purchased by the nearby North Dakota State Mill and Elevator.

State officials say there are no definite plans for the property yet. The Bronze Boot opened in 1954. The iconic Bronze Boot sign was purchased by the Home of Economy. Owners of the retail store hope to someday have it on display inside the store.
