Fans packed Izzy's Lounge in Warroad to cheer on team USA and their hometown hero, Gigi Marvin. Network television announcers talked about the small town of Warroad during Thursday's big game, even mentioning Izzy's Lounge, which is owned by Gigi's uncle.
Pretty much standing room only at Izzy's bar where the game was on a number of big screens. Not really a surprise since the small town has two olympic athletes playing on the men and women's hockey teams. Gigi Marvin and TJ Oshie.
From start to finish the crowd was on the edge of their seats and it only got worse as the game went into overtime. As as you would image the Canada score that gave them the win. It was a heartbreaking moment that many will not forget here.
Friday that roller coaster ride begins again as the men's team takes on Canada with another player from Warrior, and that is TJ Oshie.
