Traill County Vote

HILLSBORO, N.D. (AP) - Traill County residents will vote on a

proposed addition to the county courthouse.

It will be the third vote on the matter since 2008, but this

time federal stimulus money is available and the cost to local

property owners from the $2.16 million bond issue likely will not

be as much.

If voters approve on June 8, construction likely would begin

next year.

The new proposal is a scaled-down version of a $7 million bond

issue that voters have twice rejected. The 13,150-square-foot

addition would provide space for Social Services, which now shares

a 1954 courthouse addition with the Sheriff's Department, E-911

Center and county jail.
