It may have been a lot bigger than a traditional thank you note, but today a very large expression of thanks arrived at Senator Kent Conrad's office in Grand Forks. People from the community and from the grassroots group "North Dakota Change That Works" stopped by the senator's office with a thank you banner. The banner, which said "Thank You Delegation For Your Vote!", was signed by more than 100 people. It expressed their thanks to Conrad for his support of health care reform. People who visited Conrad's office say he has worked hard for them, and they wanted to let him know they are grateful.
"We know he's taken a lot of criticism, much of it unfair, and we just want to make sure he knows that the people who are benefiting from this appreciate his efforts," said C.T. Marhula, who was at Senator Conrad's office today.
Many of the signatures were gathered at the Grand Forks Rally celebrating health reform becoming law earlier this month.
Senator Conrad wasn't at the office today when they arrived.
