AUTHORITIES IDENTIFY MISSING MAN

The Grand Forks Police Department believes the missing person who may have jumped into the river at the Kennedy bridge is Delano Collin Gaking, 19, from Grand Forks. Police say they believe this is the person who was seen on the Kennedy Bridge earlier this morning, there was some personal property that belonged to Gaking in the area where he was last seen.

The Grand Forks Police Department believes the missing person who may have jumped into the river at the Kennedy bridge is Delano Collin Gaking, 19, from Grand Forks. Police say they believe this is the person who was seen on the Kennedy Bridge earlier this morning, there was some personal property that belonged to Gaking in the area where he was last seen. Officials are searching the Red River after getting a report from a truck driver that Gaking might have jumped from the Kennedy bridge around 6:22 this morning.

Police got the call shortly after 6:22am that a truck driver crossing the Kennedy bridge had seem someone hanging off the bridge over the water. The driver told police when he looked again, the person was gone.

Authorities, including both cities' fire departments, the Grand Forks County Sheriff's department and the Grand Forks County Water Rescue Team are on the scene searching for the missing person. They are also using sonar to try and locate the person in the water. As many as four boats have been on the water searching. The Grand Forks Fire Department has set up an incident command center at the east side boat landing near Cabela’s.

Authorities say personal items were found on the bridge,

indicating that someone may have jumped.
