A Grand Forks chiropractic center is moving beyond spinal care to help people be healthy. It's reaching out to help people eat well and stay active. Plains Chiropractic and Acupuncture hosted an event tonight to give people some of the information they need to make healthy food choices. There were healthy snacks like fresh fruits and vegetables and a screening of the movie Food, Inc, which shows the process of getting food from the farm to the kitchen table.
Tonight people heard more about the importance of eating locally grown food from representatives from Amazing Grains and Little J's Community Supported Agriculture.
"Little J's CSA is a community shareholder program. People can become shareholders in the spring and then receive weekly deliveries of produce throughout the growing season," said Chiropractor Natalie Muth.
Plains Chiropractic and Acupuncture will be a drop off spot where people can pick up their produce. There they can watch cooking demonstrations to learn how to prepare their vegetables.
