GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Summit League officials will discuss

the University of North Dakota's membership application in June.

The application has been in limbo pending a resolution to the

dispute over UND's Fighting Sioux nickname. The nickname is now

being retired.

UND athletic director Brian Faison (FAY'-zawn) says he talked to

Summit League Commissioner Tom Douple (DOO'-puhl) on Thursday, and

Douple told him that the school's application will be discussed at

a June meeting of league presidents.

Faison says it is only the first step in the process.
