DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota's congressional delegation
says Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Craig Fugate
will visit Devils Lake early next month to get a firsthand look at
flooding problems.
Rep. Earl Pomeroy and Sens. Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan are
organizing a public flood meeting on May 3 at Lake Region State
College.
Devils Lake has risen about 27 feet, hit record levels and
tripled in size since 1993 because of a series of wet years,
causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage.
