DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Hopefuls in the governor's race are wooing

Democratic party activists as the DFL state convention begins today in Duluth.

Nearly 1,400 party delegates and leaders are set to endorse a

candidate tomorrow.

Two Democrats who aren't asking for the party's support - U.S.

Sen. Mark Dayton and Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner - are expected to drop in and visit with delegates today.

Dayton, Gaertner and former state Rep. Matt Entenza are running in the primary.

Those vying for the endorsement include House Speaker Margaret

Anderson Kelliher, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, state legislators John Marty, Tom Rukavina and Paul Thissen and Entenza.
