FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A former North Dakota State University wide

receiver who faced a felony drug-dealing charge has pleaded guilty

to a lesser charge and been sentenced to probation.

Jordan Schultenover was charged in May 2009 with possessing

marijuana with the intent to deliver, a felony that carried a

maximum punishment of 10 years in prison.

He pleaded guilty April 12 to a lesser felony, possession of

marijuana, and also a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug

paraphernalia. Prosecutors say they made the deal because

Schultenover helped in other drug investigations.

Schultenover was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation.

If he stays out of trouble both charges will be wiped from his

record.

Schultenover was dismissed from the NDSU football team last year

before he was charged.
