It's considering closing two of its elementary schools and moving the Community High School to one of the buildings. It had a Minnesota firm do an Organizational Analysis Study, which wrapped up earlier this month.

The study assessed efficiency and cost effectiveness. The firm presented the School Board with the study findings, conclusions, and alternatives tonight. It recommended some changes the board could make to increase cost effectiveness. One major change would be possibly redrawing the district's elementary, middle school, and high school attendance boundary lines. It also suggested the Board close both Wilder Elementary School and West Elementary School as soon as possible. It recommended the Board move the Community High School into the Wilder Elementary School building.

"Why West Elementary School? Multiple reasons: One of them is it's the School District's oldest elementary school. It has a very inadequate site. It's office is poor," said Dr. Roger Worner of Roger Worner Associates, Inc., the firm that conducted the study.

The firm also recommended the School Board add a new gymnasium at Central High School and upgrade the auditorium.
