Minnesota GOP Convention Begins Today

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The main event at the Minneapolis Convention Center happens Friday with the endorsement of a candidate for governor. Party activists are choosing between state Reps. Tom Emmer and Marty
Seifert in a close contest.
Thursday's business includes backing a candidate for state
auditor.
The field features four candidates: former state auditor Pat
Anderson, former St. Paul School Board member Tom Conlon, corporate
auditor Randy Gilbert and Jeff Wiita (WEET'-uh), a longtime
employee of the state auditor's office.
The GOP takes up endorsements for attorney general and secretary
of state on Friday.
