BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The military has identified a Minot Air
Force Base airman who died in a training accident.
Twenty-two-year-old Richard Gallelli died early Thursday after being struck in the head by a dummy training missile during a training exercise. The Air Force is investigating.
A base spokeswoman says airmen practice loading the missiles
onto B-52 bombers and unloading them.
Gallelli had been in the Air Force for three years and three
months. The military says Minot was his first assignment. He
maintained weapons as a member of the 17th Munitions Squadron.
Gallelli was single. The Air Force did not release where he was
originally from.
