Freezing temperatures may mean having to cover your plant and vegetables.

Don't let the warm temperatures of April foul you, frost is still possible. This week's the mercury could sink below freezing.

Those kind of cold temps can hurt outdoor plants. As precaution plant experts say covering them maybe a good idea. Any new annuals, or vegetable plants should be covered. You can use simple things such as a cardboard box, a pail, any type of cloth. Using plastic however is not recommend because it can get cold and can cause freezer burn.

Darlene Shea/ SHEA'S NURSERY: "Typically your spring frosts are not as cold or last as long as your fall frosts. They are not as cold so they tend not to damage the plants like others will."

Shea says if you have outdoor plants in containers like geraniums, planting them in a garage or inside will also protect them.
