Loonie Hits New Low

A slight drop in the value of the Canadian dollar doesn't mean our neighbors of the North will stop visiting Grand Forks anytime soon.

A slight drop in the value of the Canadian dollar doesn't mean our neighbors of the North will stop visiting Grand Forks anytime soon.

The Canadian dollar or "loonie" was the same value as a US dollar only days ago.

But it has seen a three cent drop in value.

Many Canadians like to come North Dakota for short trips and are spending a little cash.

But Grand Forks Convention and Visitor's Bureau Executive Director Julie Rygg says at 97 cents.... it shouldn't affect Canadian shopping sprees and getaways to the area.
