University of North Dakota officials say they will work to correct problems cited in critical state audit.
The state audit says UND, NDSU, and Dickinson State did not comply with capital project requirements under the North Dakota Board of Higher Education policy.
The state auditor has concluding that UND did not comply with funding polices for building and remodeling projects. UND does not dispute the findings.
The state audit accuses UND of splitting up a project's costs to avoid having to get Higher Ed Board approval. Other issues included unauthorized spending and inaccurately reporting cost relating to the presidents new house.
UND says it will start a process to improve the way funding for capital projects is monitored and planned.
