Grand Forks Prepares for Mosquitos
What would the summer be without a few mosquitoes? Or in this area, a lot of mosquitoes.By: Brady Mallory, WDAZ
What would the summer be without a few mosquitoes? Or in this area, a lot of mosquitoes. That's why the mosquito control efforts are already underway.
Officials at Grand Forks Public Health say they have been looking at sites where mosquitoes breed. The recent wet weather means more areas for the bugs to breed. Places that hold water, like swimming pools are hot spots for mosquitos. Todd Hanson with mosquito control said residents can help.
"If anyone has any standing water - old tires are an incubator for producing mosquitos. Anything that holds water, eliminate it."
Hanson said this does not mean you need to eliminate your swimming pool. Just call Grand Forks Public Health and they will treat it free of charge.
