Three homes were affected by water driven in by high winds in the Lakewood Addition of Devils Lake. Tuesday morning, wind drove 7 foot waves into the neighborhood.
Ramsey County Sheriff Steve Nelson says water is covering roads and completely surrounding one home. Two other homes have water standing in their front yards. One of the township roads in Lakewood that was acting as a dam was breached. The Lakewood Addition sits on Creel Bay. Two other homes were flooded but they were empty- owners were preparing to move the homes because of flooding.
Nelson also says an electrical box is now also underwater. He says the Lakewood area does have power, but the box will have to be turned off and moved in the near future. Nelson says the biggest issue for homeowners is getting to their homes. More on the flooding tonight on WDAZ news at 5, 6, and 10.
