A Wichita man is riding his bike over 1,000 miles for the third time, and it's for a good cause.

Richard Stephens is staying the night here in Grand Forks on his trip from Wichita, Kansas to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This year his bike ride will raise money for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Stephens is a survivor of a 1970 plane crash and says this journey is a physical challenge but he appreciates the solitude and helping others.

Stephens says, “Someone my age is, for those that are watching, bound to have somebody in their lives that has contracted this terrible disease.”

Stephens friends and family have contributed almost $3,000.00 to support his journey.

He leaves again tommorrow morning to complete the two week trip.
