Turtle River State Park near Grand Forks is seeing an increase in campers and planning events to keep them coming back.

Park Manager Steve Crandall says the holiday weekends seem to be the busiest, and they get a lot of evening campers.

Crandall says there is one thing that keeps the park numbers up,

“The nice weather, anytime we have nice weather the parks going to be busy. You know, we got a lot of hiking trails, fishermen and a lot of different outdoor activities.”

The park has an event on June 19th called Turtle Fest with a lot of fun events for kids.

The event is free and open to the public.
