Deer Found in Apartment

Grand Forks police were dispatched to South 17th St. on a report of a deer that had jumped through the window of a ground level apartment building. Upon arrival, Officers found that the deer was still inside and was severely injured. Officers and a Community Service Officer were unable to safely get the animal out of the apartment and had to dispose of it.
The deer was taken to Weber Meats in Reynolds, ND where it will be donated to the Sportsmen Against Hunger program. It will then be given to St. Vincent DePaul food pantry and be distributed to families struggling to meet food needs.
