Motorcyclist Injured In Grand Forks Accident

A man was taken to the hospital today after a crash today in Grand Forks just before 3:00 this afternoon.

A 23-year-old Grand Forks man is in the hospital after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on a busy Grand Forks street Friday.

Joseph Berg was northbound on Columbia Road on his motorcycle around three Friday afternoon when he hit a southbound pickup that turned in front of him at the intersection of 24th Avenue South.

Police say Berg was thrown from his motorcycle, struck the windshield of the pickup and then hit the pavement.

Berg was in satisfactory condition at Altru Friday night. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the pickup,58-year-old David Austin of Fisher, Minnesota was cited for Failing to Yield at a Controlled Intersection.
