FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The state Department of Agriculture is asking North Dakota gardeners to donate some of their produce to area food banks.
The agency says it wants to collect 500,000 pounds of locally grown produce for the state's 244 food pantries.
Officials say church groups, community gardens, novice growers and entire communities have pledged to donate to the so-called Hunger Free North Dakota Gardens Project.
