Elementary-aged kids in East Grand Forks are getting the chance to learn a new language.
The Campbell Public Library is sponsoring a program to help expose kids to Spanish. A reader will come in every Tuesday to read to them in Spanish as well as utilizing craft projects to help work with spelling and pronunciation. University of North Dakota Graduate student Isabel Rhen says she started the program in January because reading and Spanish are two of her passions.
"It's important to expose children to a second language. It doesn't have to be Spanish...I think any other language is important," said Rhen.
It is also a big hit with the children who come in every week.
" I like we can learn fun things together and we can learn Spanish words and have fun together," said Sarah Rose, one of the participants.
The program is every Tuesday at 7 pm at Campbell Public Library in East
