Most of us know how to put together mixtures, but a few University of North Dakota science students got a first hand look at how to separate and analyze mixtures.

The UND Department of Chemistry hosted a visit from a mobile laboratory from the LECO company. LECO specializes in analytical equipment and instruments. The purpose was to show students the latest in chromatography, or the separation and study of mixtures. LECO Sales Engineer Adrian Pike says the mobile lab is a way for students to see the latest in an intimate setting.

" What we do instead of the customer having to go to a scientific expo where they show these instruments at convention centers, which they typically do all over the country, we bring the instruments to the customer."

Pike says the bus goes all over the country, with a stop in Kansas up next.
