MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Ice-cream and burger chain International Dairy Queen Inc. says it has signed a deal that will bring Blizzards to Saudi Arabia.
The Minneapolis-based company says Monday that it signed a franchise agreement with Al Safwa Food Group to open 32 locations in Saudi Arabia, with the first in Riyadh in 2011.
The move expands the company's presence in the Middle East.
Dairy Queen says it currently has locations in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The Saudi locations will have all the signature Dairy Queens desserts, including Blizzard shakes, soft-serve ice cream and frozen cakes.
Dairy Queen is owned by billionaire Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
