Man Killed In Mentor Tornado Identified

The Polk County Sheriff's Department has released the names of Thursday night's tornado victims in the Mentor, Minn. area. Wesley Michaels of Mentor was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Polk County Sheriff's Department has released the names of Thursday night's tornado victims in the Mentor, Minn. area.

Wesley Michaels of Mentor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two adult females, Heidi Michaels of Climax, Minn., and Patricia Wilber of Grand Forks were taken to Riverview Hospital in Crookston. Wilber was then taken by Lifeflight to Altru in Grand Forks.

The Sheriff's department says a fourth person sustained minor injuries, but was not hospitalized.

The department says everyone else has been accounted for and one one is missing. The Mentor C Store was destroyed along with four vehicles.

The tornado passed through the Mentor area at 6:20pm Thursday. Four vehicles at the C-Store were also destroyed.

There is widespread damage in the Mentor area including cabins, boats and pontoons overturned in nearby Maple Lake and debris scattered about.
