The wrecking ball is not far from the historic Wayne Hotel in Crookston.

Polk County commissioners are just waiting for the bid to come back, then the demolition will begin.

Multiple attempts to save the building, over the past few years have failed. The county which owns the building says the third and second floor are starting to fall.

The county is getting estimates of what it would cost to tear it down. 300-thousand dollars was set aside for the rehab project and that money will now go toward the demolition.

The Hotel was built in the late 18-hundreds. The city of Crookston doesn't know yet what will be put in the spot.
