Major projects like Cherry Street and Interstate 29 south of Grand Forks have had setbacks because of the weather, but expect to complete work on time.

Work on Interstate 29 is expected to be done by October 9th. Cherry Street from 17th Avenue South to 24th Avenue South will be completed within two months.

Grand Forks City Engineer Al Grasser says most projects have been able to work through the rain, but water main replacements and underground work have been delayed.

"Not too much.. You know, its slowed things down a little bit. We got water main replacements going on. Of course, anytime you're doing underground work it's tough to do that when it's too wet," Grasser says.

Work on Cherry Street from 24th Avenue South to 47th Avenue South will start on July 12th. Paving South 48th Street just west of the interstate will also start in the coming weeks.
