GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Two University of North Dakota hockey recruits were selected in the first round of the NHL draft, bringing to 14 the number of first-round picks in the program's history.

Defenseman Derek Forbort was selected 15th overall by Los Angeles and center Brock Nelson was chosen 30th overall by the New York Islanders.

It is the third time in six years UND has boasted multiple picks in the first round.

A total of seven UND-bound players were selected during the weekend draft, more than any other college program in the country.
