The Alerus Center is trying to get ahead with money set aside for them by the city.
The Alerus is setting up a concert fund and wants the City Council to have input on events held at the center.
Although they are not done with their preliminary budget, there is 250-thousand dollars set aside in an account for them.
Officials want to start using that money now to stay ahead in the coming year.
"A couple things we're thinking of and asking for help on and that is the concert process or the event thing and how we can make it and maybe how we're developing that process to bring to you on how to request some help with concerts perhaps." said Dwight Thompson of the Alerus Commission.
Thompson says the last few concerts were losses and this money could help with potential losses in the future.
