A Fun Night At Sander's For A Good Cause

Local celebrities help raise money for the Community Violence Intervention Center.

It was a big night at Sander's tonight, as local celebrities help raise money for the Community Violence Intervention Center.

This is the 12th year of the fundraiser and there is a waiting list for people who want to dine in the restaurant during the event.

This year several people you might know helped out with the fundraiser including our very own Cassie Walder and former UND hockey player Eric Fabian.

There are live and silent auctions with things like trips, jewelery and dinners.

Organizers say it's a great way to get together to raise money for a good cause.

"It's just a time to bring the community together and raise money for community violence intervention center and kind of the highlight of the evening is our celebrity servers, and they do all kinds of tricks and show different talents to raise money and usually we raise between $25,000 to $35,000 so it's a significant fundraiser for us." said executive director of CVIC Kristi Hall-Jiran.

Organizers say if they reach that 30-thousand-dollar mark, it'll be the most they have ever raised.
