Former Sioux forward brings Stanley Cup to Winnipeg Sunday

MANITOBA IS GIVING WINNIPEG NATIVE--AND FORMER UND FIGHTING SIOUX FORWARD--JONATHAN TOEWS AN HONOR THAT WILL LITERALLY PUT HIM ON THE MAP.

THE CAPTAIN OF THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPION CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS WILL HAVE A MANITOBA LAKE NAMED IN HIS HONOR.

MANITOBA PREMIER GREG SELLINGER MADE THAT ANNOUNCEMENT WEDNESDAY ON WINNIPEG'S CJOB RADIO.

A MANITOBA PROVINCIAL OFFICIAL SAID THE LAKE WILL BE LOCATED IN NORTHERN MANITOBA AND WILL BE CALLED TOEWS LAKE.

TOEWS, THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER IN THIS YEAR'S PLAYOFFS, WILL BRING THE STANLEY CUP TO WINNIPEG SUNDAY.

THERE WILL BE A CEREMONY AT CITY HALL AT ELEVEN A.M., FOLLOWED BY A PARADE IN ST. VITAL, AND A PARTY AT A COMMUNITY CENTER.
