Residents in Manvel say they are sad and surprised about the news, because Donald Chisolm was a nice and community-oriented man.

"We're all pretty much sick about it," said Daryl Bragg at the Manvel Senior Center.

Residents say before he went missing in June, Donald Chisholm was a friendly face in the town of Manvel.

" He was an excellent man. Bright, witty and came here all the time," said Bragg, a friend of Chisholm's.

He said Chisholm was never too busy to help out at the Senior Center.

"He Chatted with us in the kitchen and put in the light bulbs here all the time. Fix anything around the center he could. Very community-oriented person."

When Rodney Chisholm confessed to killing his brother Donald, it shocked the town.

" It's scary... It's a scary thought this could've happened in our town," said Nicole Andre, who grew up next to the Chisholm family.

They weren not shocked about who did it, they say Rodney terrorized the town.

"A missing dog I had. I asked him about it. I believe he was behind it. We later found it. It was shot. Manvel is safer with him behind bars," said James Moreland, who lives near Rodney.

Bragg hopes for justice.

"I hope they prosecute and he spends his time thinking about this in prison."
